At Sister Alveranga's property there is an older house - half blown down by a hurricane - they call this 'dirt wall' construction. We thought it was interesting to put the rocks and dirt between cement - she still uses the 'kitchen' for cooking - over coal or wood. The 'kitchen sink' is a bowl of water on the 'table' on poles out in the yard. She is taking care of two grandchildren here - their mother is in the US working... cute kids.
