more Jamaican Life

More of the interesting items here in Jamaica. The way they cook 'jerk' chicken - on bit pits - on sticks with a tin roof thing on top! looks weird but tastes great! We were up in the mountain bush and saw a sign for Liberty Hill Greathouse - that was the name of the plantation owners homes - so we drove up a road to see it. The guide said it was over 300 years old - and most had been remodeled into a guesthouse with a swimming pool that people could rent. There was old rocks in the back yard and I asked the guide and he told us it was what was left of the slave kitchen - the picture isn't very good - but it was really interesting and notable - see the bake ovens at the back? The sun was right in the wrong spot! Last is a log with some kind of mushroom fungus growing out of it - see how much you are learning about Jamaica?
